"When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly." 1 Peter 2:23
Jesus had no fear of man. He had no need to get defensive, backpedal or point the finger. He knew who he was and what his purpose was. How often am I held back by the fear of what someone may think of me if I act a certain way or say a certain thing? I don't often get insulted to my face, as Christ did. My fear is of something even more rediculous - the fear of what someone may think. How absurd to let this define my actions. I need my self-conscousness to be replaced by a God-consciousness so I will fully entrust myself to the one who guards my reputation, the Overseer of my soul (1 Pet 2:25). God's got my back.
